Who we are


The Turnaround Company is a team of highly experienced professionals that specialise in turning around the performance of failing or stalled organisations. We tackle difficult situations where the business is stalled or even failing. We have hands on experience of effecting successful turnarounds in companies that range from £250K to £125M in turnover. We are members of the PwC turnaround panel.

The Turnaround Company is particularly suited to situations where both financial and operational stresses are present and revenue generation is significantly underperforming. We believe that the majority of distressed businesses need growth oriented approaches as part of a sustainable recovery – the currently dominant turnaround strategies of cost reduction, restructuring and break-up are, in isolation, suitable for less than 50% of troubled companies. Growth is essential.

Our targets are operationally based service companies in the £2 – 150M TO range naturally orientating us to the data, IT, telco and service industries. However we are interested in most distressed situations.

How we work

We invest heavily in the businesses we help and our commitment to them is absolute. We are hands on and move quickly to stabilise the situation, using our own hard earned money bringing in institutional investment if needed. Recovery commences on day one, regrouping the business around cash, customers and control. Soon after we start driving for growth to ensure a sustainable recovery. Effective execution is achieved by broad, consistent communication and appropriate management incentives.

Who should engage us?

Any company with a problem that is threatening the organisation. We work closely with current owners, directors and investors who are relieved to share the burden with our team. The situation may have been caused by a single major issue, such as cash, supplier failure or temporary loss of control or may have crept up unnoticed over months and years. Either way we move quickly to stabilise the situation.

We have good working relationships with many of the major Professional Services firms who stay with us from introduction to exit. We work hand in hand with Financiers and Banks protecting new investments and re-securing old. Our deep experience in operationally based businesses in the IT, data, telco and service industries make us particularly suited to supporting companies with similar problems.

We aim to visit the company within days of receiving a call and leave behind a copy of our report which management may retain for their own use. This is free and without commitment.
