AVOID THE CAPITAL GAINS TAX HIKES
It is highly likely that the 22 June 2010 emergency budget will increase the rate of CGT from 18% to 40% - 50%.
If you have investment properties/assets which are heavy with gain you may wish to avoid the increase by:
· banking the current CGT rate at 18%; whilst
· minimising risk by creating a safety net just in case the CGT changes are made to be retrospective (subject to conditions)
If you are interested in the above, we would suggest immediate action due the short period in order to advise and allow time for implementation.
