Dear Andrew,   Welcome to this month's Tax Alerts.   With the first coalition budget looming and the first £6bn of savings announced, it is doubtful that there can be much good news to report.   CGT is going up: it is just a question of by how much and when? Prevention is about taking positive decisions now. VAT is going up but no one will talk about it; how much and when? Well, my guess is 2.5% staged part now and part in January. It will not help inflation figures but it does help the finances.
